TOP FIVE PERFORMANCE AT UPTOWN NIGHT MARKET

Uptown Night Market has got us so excited for this year! We just wanted to take a moment to thank our performers for ELEVATING our 2021 season, and for continuing to apply for the 2022 season. With every genre under the sun— jazz, pop, R&B, blues, house beats— It's beautiful how something so trendy can connect us to the deep cultural roots of Harlem. Without further ado, here are some of our musical performances from last season, brought to us by Harlem Late Night Jazz:

1. David Lee Jones with Soul Power Band

This virtuous saxophonist brought the BEAT, featuring the star talents of C. Kelly Wright and Letrice Arlene, in a soulful energy explosion. Their performance had everyone on their effin’ feet, and we were happy to have them.

2. City Love NYC

This jazz group, with AJ Ryan and featuring Priya DeBerry and The Real Chris Kaz, brought DOPE vibes to the market. With an electric violin performance and powerful voices coming to light, they were LEGENDARY!

3. DJ Stormin Norman

This hype master knows how to spin. This DJ redefined what a Harlem party meant with us with various genres including house beats and reggae.

4. Captain + the Nu Gypsies

Keith “the Captain” Gamble and his band ushered us through the 21st century with music inspired by electric funk, rock, R&B, and blues!!!

5. DJ Cosi

DJ Cosi’s energy at our season finale was UNMATCHED! With house beats and funky rhythms, he had us shaking our bodies ALL NIGHT LONG!

While we had plenty of amazing performers not mentioned in this article, this is just a TASTE. If you want to know who else is coming, you’re going to have to make an appearance yourself!!! With the best food and drinks (clink, clink), the dopest performances this side of the Hudson River, and most importantly, we make sure our vendors represent the borough! Opening Night is April 14, 2022, 4-10 pm. The place to be is 135th and 12th Ave (Under the Arches). For more information, RSVP here. See you April 14!
